This image displays a contrast in age due to the recognition of the two opposing significant ages of the figures. One is a baby and one is a man. This could either be interpreted as father and son or the transition of ageing. Also the colour scheme is very contrasting as black and white are opposites to each other.
The photograph demonstrates contrast through the colour of skin and this photograph allows the audience to differentiate the race of the two people due to the different colours of their skin. This is one approach which I intend to experiment with.
This piece of work illustrates a contrast in time, implying the condition of the boy before and after a specific event. It can consider the two separate themes of healthy and injured.
I believe this piece is very successful as it forms one image but it conveys four different themes, it illustrates summer, winter, autumn and spring through the association with the appearance of a tree in the different seasons. This also shows contrasts in weather and time.
