These two images are very successful in showing shape by using the technique of a silhouette where the foreground is usually black and contrasts with the lighter background. This contrast shows the outline and figure of the object very effectively.
This image shows the shape of the water droplets on the leaf very well. It is illustrated by the recognition of the highlight areas on the water which makes them stand out. Also the dark outline of the water droplets define its spherical shape.
In this photo the formal element of shape is shown by the variety of tones with the colour purple. Shadowed petals on the flower enhance the lighter coloured petals and also allows a specific shape to be visible.
