Work Diary - Reflection

Work Diary

In Thursday's session we set out to investigate and challenge the topic of reflection. I found this very enjoyable as we had to search for reflective surfaces. The surfaces varied in the way the reflected light, in terms of whether it was distorted or the same as he original. One challenge I had when shooting reflection was that in some of my images I didn't realise that the camera was visible.

This piece of work is very effective in showing reflection. The main feature of the image (badge) reflects a distorted image due to its rounded surface. The reflection is still very clear and detailed. Also reflection is shown in other areas of the picture as most of the car produced reflection whether it was distorted or not or detailed or blurred.

The photo is of a window showing my own reflection, The reflection isn't distorted as it is still in proportion, however, the reflection is blurred. It could be considered that it looks very effective by adding an unusual feel. Reflections are also visible through my trainers where light is reflected of the paten surface and is distorted.

Progression
If I had the chance I got the chance to re-shoot the topic of reflection I would make sure the camera wasn't visible when its not intended to be in the shot. Also I would've liked to experiment more with mirrors, by adding several mirrors I could created many reflections from different angles in one shot. Also I would like to experiment with water as I believe the distorted effect in which the water makes is very creative and artistic.
