On Mondays session we were given the topic tone, I found this very enjoyable because we had to only work in black and white with the cameras . By using the black and white effect it allowed us to experiment with different objects looking at all the different shades of a colour. The shadows and highlights are enhanced. Below i have included to off my pictures which i deem successful.
This image displays tone in a very definite way as the individual shades of black grey and white are very much separate from each other and don't tend to blend with one another. I consider this to be effective as it boldly shows the different tones. The background is of a mutual colour being grey, it allows both the trainers and the trousers to stand out. Also i like the way the legs are proportioned equally in the composition and they are level.
I believe this picture was very successful in its outcome. It demonstrates three main distinct shades separated by definite lines. The dark grey next to the slightly lighter grey on the right show the tones within a colour and also shows the shadow from where the camera is positioned.
Progression:
If given the opportunity to re-shoot the topic tone I would attempt to construct pictures with a much wider variety of tones. The could range from black, gradually merging into light greys and whites. Also I would like to attempt to create tone in some coloured pictures and observe the outcomes. I would need to only begin to take picture with one obvious consistent colour being the main feature.
