This image shows a distorted reflection as the shiny surface is in a particular shape, meaning that the reflection will not be an exact copy of the original. This image displays a curved reflection.
The two images above are reflections of a window and water. Both of these mediums reflect the same transcription as the original as the surface is complete flat and smooth which prevents any alternations in the reflection.
This photo demonstrates how a reflection can be distorted and alternated due to an unsmooth surface, in this case it is crippled water and the reflection comes out blurry and not very detailed.
My own definition - A reflection is a transcription of a real life object onto a different medium. The quality of the reflection depends of the style of the reflective surface.
