Work Diary - Pattern

Work diary

In Monday's lesson we had to gather images relating to the topic pattern. Initially I thought it would be difficult to find particular pattern but it actually turned out the be one of my most successful work to date. Most objects have a pattern, you just have to look close enough or in the right places to find them. Pattern comes in a variety of ways which allow include a repartition of a specific thing, such as shapes. Pattern can be found on something, like a pattern in an animal or flower, but they can also be formed by organising several objects in a repetitive way.
I believe this is a successful piece of work as it shows a clear reoccurring pattern of rain droplets on a transparent surface ; in the shape of circles of many sizes dispersed around the shot. There is also some further pattern and detail in this photo as smaller circles (rain droplets) are visible between the big ones.

This picture of a wall is another effective piece associated with pattern as it shows a continuous pattern, once again in the shape of circles, distributed all along the wall. I think this pattern is very effective due to the camera angle because the pattern gradually gets smaller which shows how the wall is getting further away. Therefore this piece could also relate to the topic depth.

Progression:
To improve some of my work relating to pattern I could make the pattern fill up the whole frame. I could do this by using the cloning tool when editing the picture. This will make the pattern look continuous as the whole picture will be covered with the same/different patterns. I could also attempt to make my own patters by organising objects into a specific order. Also I could create pattern with art on a variety on mediums.
