Work Diary
In Mondays session it was my first experience with using a professional camera. I had never carried out photography before but I have always liked the prospect of it. after my first experience I thoroughly enjoyed it as it allowed me to express myself and the different aspects of the world relating to the specific topic. I really enjoyed seeing how I could explore the topic so vastly as my photos show. my work displays different aspects of lines which I wouldn't of considered to look at before. I have realised my attention to detail has improved. this is useful because in photography I'm required to create work showing a variety of approaches to the topic.
I think this piece of photography is successful because it clearly relates to the topic 'lines'. its displays countless lines arranged in many directions. it also contains several layers of lines which add detail and make the image look more effective. any reason why this piece is effective is because it fills the whole screen. this fence is made up of grey metal which stands out to the background which is a dark green.
I don't feel this as this pieces is as successful. It shows a couple of aspects of lines however, the quality of the image is poor and considered blurry. Also I was positioned incorrectly when taking the photo which is evident through a shadow appearing on the watch. Finally, it doesn't take up the whole screen which also makes it less effective.
Progression: If I had the opportunity to shoot the topic 'lines' again I would come with a different approach. For every photo I would ensure that the image takes up the whole screen in order to get a greater effect, this guarantees that no areas of the image are wasted and then can be used to its full potential. I would also attempt to take more photos from more positions, including a range of heights, angles and zooms.
